Remittances to Jamaica up 3.8 per cent in 2025, says PIOJ
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Remittances to Jamaica totalled US3 247.5 million in 2025, an increase of 3.8 per cent when compared with 2024.This is according to the 2025 edition of the Economic and Social Survey Jamaica, a publication of the Planning Institute of Jamaica.According to the survey, the higher remittances resulted from an increase of US127.8 million to US3 485.7 million in inflows.It said the expansion in inflows was due to higher inflows from remittance companies by US170.7 million to US3 082.3 million as ‘other remittances’ declined by US42.9 million to US403.4 million.Remittance inflows from Jamaica’s top three remittance sources increased during the period under review. The United States of America, Jamaica’s largest source, totalled US2 103.1 million, an increase of 5.4 per cent.The United Kingdom was up 10.5 per cent to US352.0 million, while remittance flows from Canada rose 3.5 per cent to US295.1 million.
