Minneapolis FINALLY confronts its homophobic bigotry and lifts its ban on gay bathhouses to celebrate Pride month

In 1989, Minneapolis banned adult bathhouses and sex venues during the height of the AIDs epidemic. The story should have ended there. However, because the radical left has become so deranged and has aligned debauchery with their values, or lack thereof, the Minneapolis City Council has deemed that homophobic, or whatever, subsequently, in honor of Pride Month, the City Council voted to lift the ban on adult bathhouses and sex venues.Rampant fraud in Minnesota. Council Vice President Jamal Osman abstained from the votes and Council Member Jamison Whiting was absent.The ordinances were first introduced in March and sent to the Committee of the Whole. They were then held for more than a month before Thursday, when the council also approved a “Pride in Policy” package in support of LGBTQ+ residents and visitors. Those ordinances included updating city codes to be gender inclusive, a study on how to expand all-gender restrooms across the city, and enshrining support and protections for LGBTQ+ people in Minneapolis.If approved by Frey, the action repeals the 1988 ban on adult bathhouse licenses. It also removes language meant to modernize city code and eliminate barriers to developing licenses for adult bathhouses in the future.According to the interweb, a bathhouse is where gay men go to socialize and engage in sexual activity. It would make sense that at the height of the AIDs epidemic, they would ban such venues. When you consider the fact that the vast majority of AIDS diagnoses were and are with gay men, common sense would tell you why the city did what it did decades ago. But just because there is no longer an AIDS epidemic does not automatically mean this is “homophobic.” And even if it was, who cares? The City Council should not be concerned with such debauchery, and it is totally deranged that out of all the things the city should be focused on, they dedicate efforts to this.
