Narrative Analysis: Name Calling
Trump knows that he and Bibi killed the Ayatollah and his wife and gravely wounded his son, not to mention a whole slew of other leaders. He previously killed their top General Soleimani. Targeting leaders is not unheard of, of course. But it does make it a legitimate tactic in a particular conflict. It’s pretty clear that this is on the menu and, frankly, has been for quite some time since Iran has had Trump on their hit list for years. I would guess that the recent assassinations of their leaders have put some urgency behind it. Obviously, Trump can’t “leave instructions” for anything. Maybe he thinks he will rule as an AI hologram to the end of time, I don’t know. But threatening nuclear war, which is actually what this is doesn’t have quite the same fire now that he’s done it a bunch of times. I’m not sure Iran takes anything he says seriously. Trump had his DOJ toadies subpoena the NY Times reporters yesterday over the reporting about Qatar Force One not being capable of defensive actions. Apparently, he’s very upset, probably because it means that everyone knows that he didn’t let them finish the retrofit so he could fly around on his fancy toy. He really wants to fly around on his fancy toy — but he’s also scared to death these days. I don’t really blame him for that. There have been three assassination attempts, and now that he has hit the Iranian hornet’s nest,

Inflation battle is far from over despite oil retreat
BlackRock Head of Global Fixed Income for Apex Navin Saigal warns investors are not out of the woods yet, with government spending and the AI boom continuing to fuel economic uncertainty. “I think one of the big macro shocks, the oil shock, has alleviated somewhat,” Mr Saigal told Sky News Australia. “I don’t think we’re completely out of the woods when it comes to inflationary or deflationary factors. “I think there are some big tectonic forces at play, mainly government spending on the CapEx from companies that are invested in AI infrastructure. I think the oil shock was just one other inflationary impulse that the world had to contend with.”
