“A normal path” “@CNN has already been Baried,” BMaz posts to bluesky in response to the clip below. Andy Meek at Forbes wrote llast weekabout the breadth of David Ellison’s Murdoch-esque media ambitions: “By uniting the iconic, basically, libraries of Paramount and the iconic libraries of Warner Brothers, we now have a library of 15,000 films,” Ellison said in a March CNBC interview. “When you put Paramount+ and HBO MAX together, you get to over 200 million basically gross subscribers That puts us in an incredible position to really be able to win in the content space.” Its television holdings will be just as substantial. “Profoundly Disappointed” Is This Company’s Response To Sony’s Decision To End Disc Support
iam8bit, a company known for its physical gaming collectibles, has responded to Sony's announcement that it will no longer support physical PlayStation discs in 2028, saying it is profoundly disappointed by the news. Physical games are vital to games preservation, ownership, and consumer choice, values that have guided iam8bit since our first physical release in 2016, the company said. The company added that it remains committed to these values. Long live physical media, iam8bit said in its sign-off. iam8bit collaborates with numerous game companies like Blizzard, Remedy, Capcom, Annapurna, and Xbox on physical games and merch. The company also releases vinyl soundtracks for games like Arc Raiders and Persona. The company also funds and publishes games through its iam8bit Presents label. Another company, the independent game developer Aeternum Game Studios, reacted to Sony's announcement as well, saying its commitment to physical editions of its games remains intact. We pledge to work urgently to bring every game we create--and those already on the way--tangibly to your shelves before that fateful early 2028 deadline, the company said. It added: The industry may try to change its course but we will not let go of your hand. Your shelves will keep being filled with stories. Sony continues to sell many, many millions of physical, disc-based games, but the number it sells each year continues to drop, and that trend is expected to continue for Sony and other game companies. Against this backdrop, Sony will no longer support disc-based games starting in January 2028, and the implication here is that the PS6 also won't work with disc-based games. A recent report said Microsoft's new console, Project Helix, may not support discs, either.

'Get your story straight!' Analyst gets into fiery exchange on CNN over Trump's deal
A political analyst and a conservative columnist got into a heated exchange on CNN's NewsNight with host Abby Phillip on Monday. Charles Blow, author of Blow the Stack on Substack, and Caroline Downey, a columnist for The National Review, got into an argument over the deal President Donald Trump made with the Iranian regime during a panel debate. The argument happened at a time when the Memorandum of Understanding signed by both parties is being sharply criticized in the U.S. The agreement includes terms such as allowing Iran to resume selling oil and delaying talks about stopping the country from pursuing a nuclear weapon. Downey suggested that if the Iranians don't abide by the terms of the deal, then Trump should wipe them out, echoing past threats Trump himself has made. The exchange became testy as Blow pressed for more detail. At one point, Downey claimed that Trump could increase military pressure on Iran through additional strikes, a point that she later denied making in the exchange with Blow. Blow wasted no time in pointing that out. I need you to get your story straight! Blow said sharply. You were the one recommending it, and now you're saying you're not. So which one is it?Downey stumbled a little as she tried to explain her positionC'mon, get it out, Blow said, egging her on. Get it all out of your mouth.

Tarantino Teams Up With Grammy-Winning Pop Icon for New Movie
Getty ImagesQuentin Tarantino is stepping in front of the camera for a new project opposite Australian pop star Kylie Minogue. Jamie Adams, a new-wave-inspired filmmaker and former collaborator, will direct the film titled Tangled Up in Blue. The auteur cold-pitched the role to Tarantino, 63, via email and was surprised to receive a response from the famed director’s agent. “I sent him the story outline and a letter. I was just very honest about believing in him as an actor,” Adams told Variety. “I didn’t think I’d hear back. But two weeks later, on a Sunday, his agent emailed saying Quentin was intrigued and wanted a Zoom.” After a lengthy conversation, which the Welsh director described as “Disneyland for filmmakers,” Tarantino was on board. The Visor Entertainment production will also star Jason Isaacs, Allison Williams, Sofia Boutella, and RZA alongside Tarantino and Minogue. The star-studded cast was seen filming on the Welsh coast earlier this week. Minogue, 58, who started her career acting in the Australian TV soap Neighbors, has popped up in movies over the years, including Moulin Rouge, Street Fighter, Bio-Dome and San Andreas.Read it at VarietyRead more at The Daily Beast.

‘Braver Angels really helped me to see the humanity in people from the other side’: One high schooler’s journey to better political conversations
Written Gabriella Kearns, Senior Fellow for Civic Storytelling and originally published on Braverangels.org (Mixed bias).Mia Dougherty has always been interested in politics.nbsp;“From the very beginning I wanted to talk about issues. Even when I was in first grade, I remember I did this announcement on the intercom about why people should save the environment and be vegetarian,” she said. “Which is hilarious, because I’m not even vegetarian now.”nbsp;Clearly open to changing her mind, Mia was ahead of the curve when it came to having productive political conversations. There was just one problem: “Kids my age didn’t really want to have the depth of discussion I always wanted to have,” she said. So, when she was just ten years old, her mom enrolled her in Braver Lens, a Braver Angels program that explored the political divide through photography. Here, she was talking to people she never could’ve imagined.“When we met, they showed their pictures, and explained their life stories, and

Spineless Reporters Let Trump Walk All Over Them On Iran
After the news of Sen. Lindsey Graham's death, Trump dialed it into NBC's Meet the Press for a lengthy interview, and when host Kristen Welker tried to ask him about CENTCOM saying they struck 140 Iranian military targets this Saturday, Trump got testy and told her he didn't want to talk about it. WELKER: You obviously launched a fresh round of strikes overnight. Iran said overnight the Strait of Hormuz is closed. CENTCOM came out this morning and said the Strait of Hormuz is open. Which is it Mr. President and how are you going to respond? TRUMP: I don't want to talk about it, because I want to honor the life of Lindsey Graham, so I don't want to talk about it. I told you that before the call. WELKER: Yeah. TRUMP: It's open. We bombed the hell out of them last night. They're very, very evil and sick people. We had meetings with them and they agreed to a deal yesterday, a perfect deal for us. No nuclear, no this, no that, no nothing. They gave up everything. And then after that, they left the room, and then, within an hour they launched a drone at a ship. I said you people are sick. You're sick people, and so it's one of those things. I don't want to talk about it. I want to talk about one person today, Lindsey Graham.read more
