Il Cortile

Il Cortile https://www.ilcortile.es Pizza. It is just part of life. Good pizza, bad pizza, cold pizza, freshly wood fired pizza, frozen, delivered, boxed However, finding really good pizza is hard. Really good pizza that you want to go back for over and over. Il Cortile is one of those. It is part of a chain across Valencia with restaurants in Cañada, Canovas and Santa Bárbara. Technically an Italian restaurant with salads, pasta and the like but it is the pizza that really shines. Even so, you should start with one of the salads as they are ample The post Il Cortile appeared first on Valencia International.

Corte Inglés Cafeteria

Corte Inglés Cafeteria https://www.elcorteingles.es/hosteleria/cafeterias/ You know, there’s not many cafeterias left in the world. When you come across a good one, you should relish it. I mean, what is better than queuing up in a line to look at food items across a counter, interact with a person, ask for something and it passed over to be put on a tray? It feels so otherworldly and so personal. The cafeteria at the main Corte Inglés (Calle Pintor Maella) on the top floor is so reaffirming. Choose from the salad station, the rice station with lovely pans of paella, The post Corte Inglés Cafeteria appeared first on Valencia International.

L’ETNO, Museu Valencià d’Etnologia

L’ETNO. Museu Valencià d’Etnologia https://letno.dival.es/va There is no doubt that Valencia is full of amazing museums. The government is to be lauded with their support of everything from silk to ceramics to rice to classical and modern art. The variety is amazing and stretches from art to history to crafts to business. Most of the museums offer amazing permanent collections that are almost always coupled with special offerings and visiting exhibitions. One of our favorites is the museum of ethnology, L’ETNO. . The museum was launched in 1982 with the goal of collecting and displaying artifacts that are important The post L’ETNO, Museu Valencià d’Etnologia appeared first on Valencia International.

Berguna Gluten Free

Berguna Gluten Free – in San Francesc https://www.bergunaglutenfree.com This is a lovely little combination coffee shop and eatery that is exclusively gluten free. It has a very 1990s feel to it with white tile, decorative cinder blocks, metal, reclaimed (looking) wood and touches of leather. The menu is on chalkboards above the counter where you order and includes wraps, salads, burgers, tostas (think avocado toast, bagels, eggs, pancakes and waffles. There are also smoothies, poke bowls, yogurt, fruit and the like on offer. The counter service is friendly and efficient. Menus are in Spanish and English. Cocolinda Alameda

Cocolinda – Burger Passeig de l’Albereda, 14 46010 València Valencia, Spain +34 960 215 917 https://cocolindaalameda.es/ On their Web site Cocolinda bills itself as a restaurant that fuses “Mediterranean cuisine with global flavors. Homemade, unprocessed dishes that tell stories of travel and a love for authenticity. Food that nourishes both body and soul.” That’s pretty ambitious and bit confusing but the bewildering hyperbole actually works. Located on the north side of Passeig de l’Alberda and a short walk from the Alameda metro station, Cocolinda is light, bright and colorful. The staff is welcoming and a bit laid back (in a The post Cocolinda Alameda appeared first on Valencia International.

The Mirror of Beauty: Japanese Art from the 16th to the 20th Century

MuVIM The Mirror of Beauty: Japanese Art from the 16th to the 20th Century Temporary Exhibition (Extended until October 12, 2025) 10 y Guillen de Castro 8 | 46001, Valencia The temporary exhibition in the downstairs exhibit hall (Sala Alfons Roig) is an unexpected joy. Sometimes the exhibit rooms at the MuVIM feel a bit small but one is never disappointed by the work of the curators to pack a small space with expansive exhibits featuring far reaching art and ideas. The exhibit is filled with an eclectic mix ranging from classic porcelain to kimonos. This includes “engravings, sculptures, The post The Mirror of Beauty: Japanese Art from the 16th to the 20th Century appeared first on Valencia International.

Restaurante Apicius

Restaurante Apicius C/Eolo 7, 46021 Valencia info@restaurante-apicius.com 963 93 63 01 https://www.restaurante-apicius.com One of the loveliest restaurants in Valencia is owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Enrique Medina and Yvonne Arcidiacono. This is truly innovative food and should receive at least one Michelin star (but we are sort of happy that it has not because it would be too, too busy). Chef Medina’s cuisine focuses on high-quality, seasonal, market products that translates into a union of tradition and innovation in what is, quite simply, an amazing menu offering. Yvonne’s oversight of the front of house is The post Restaurante Apicius appeared first on Valencia International.

Museu de l’Arros

Like silk and fabric, citrus and ceramics, rice (arroz / arros) forms part of the fabric of the region. Brought to Spain by the Moors in the 8th century and and cultivated in the Albufera lagoon the Moors introduced advanced technologies to the production of rice in the region (sadly most of it using slave labor at the time). However, rice production has ebbed and flowed across the last 1,000 years with The post Museu de l’Arros appeared first on Valencia International.
