Why The Princess of Wales’ Garter fashion choice shows us she is championing Great Britain

The Princess of Wales attended the annual Garter Day procession at Windsor Castle today.Although she is the future Queen, she is not yet a member of the Order of the Garter - the oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain. Knights, including her husband, the Prince of Wales, processed in grand velvet robes, glistening insignia and plumed hats, is one of the most traditional ceremonies in the royal calendar. However, until such a time she is invested into the ancient Order by the Sovereign, the Princess is choosing to make her own bold fashion statements.
