White people set to become minority in US by 2050 - 13 years before Britain

White Americans will become a minority group in the US for the first time in the country's history by 2050, according to fresh projections from the US Census Bureau.The data reveals a dramatic transformation in the nation's ethnic composition over seven decades - just 40 years ago, around 80 per cent of all Americans were white.But by the middle of this century, that proportion is forecast to fall to just 47 per cent, with further decline to 44 per cent anticipated by 2060.The sweeping changes are being propelled by a combination of factors, including international migration and movement within the country's borders.
