Voters ‘desperate’ for One Nation as Labor backlash grows
Shadow Cabinet Secretary Zoe McKenzie claims voters at the Nepean by-election were actively seeking One Nation how-to-vote cards as frustration with Labor intensified. “I’ve just come from a by-election in my state seat of Nepean and the move, the curiosity and the interest and the reach out, frankly, for the One Nation how-to-vote card was really clear,” Ms McKenzie told Sky News Senior Reporter Caroline Marcus. “It was also clear why they were reaching for the One Nation how-to-vote card. “People are desperate, they are doing it tough, they see a very difficult Labor government. “They’re desperate to send the loudest possible message.”

Meet Aber Kawas, DSA-Backed Palestinian American Who Won New York State Senate Primary
The Democratic Socialists of America’s slate dominated the New York primaries last week, with Aber Kawas winning the Democratic nomination for a New York state Senate seat in the New York City borough of Queens with a 20-point lead against progressive State Assemblymember Steven Raga. Born and raised in New York to Palestinian parents, Kawas campaigned on affordable housing, universal healthcare, immigration reform, public transit, climate action and opposition to U.S. support for Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Over the past decade, the DSA has grown from about 5,000 members to over 100,000 members in 200 chapters across the United States. “What we are saying is that we want to make sure that people who are struggling are provided the best social services possible by our government,” says Aber Kawas of DSA candidates. “That is not a threat to people. That is a really hopeful message that so many Americans and so many people are looking for, and that is why we were able to win in these landslide victories.”

‘What are they playing at?’: ACTU resurrects push for Indigenous Voice to Parliament
Sky News host Caleb Bond reacts to the ACTU reviving a push for an Indigenous Voice to Parliament despite the results of the 2023 referendum. “The union movement has decided that Labor isn't in enough trouble at the moment, so it's decided to resurrect the Voice to Parliament,” Mr Bond said. “I know, it seems crazy, but maybe the Australian Council of Trade Unions has it in for Anthony Albanese or something. “You have to seriously wonder what they're playing at bringing this back up again when you have an insurgent One Nation, and Labor needs to hang on to every outer suburban vote it can find. “I know One Nation picked up the ‘Fire the Liar’ campaign from this channel, here's another campaign for you: Labor's biggest backers want to bring back the Voice.”
