Montenegro's stunning Mogren Beach has claimed the crown as Europe's top beach destination for 2026, beating out traditional favourites like Spain, Greece and Italy, according to new research. The beach still scores highly for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and fantastic warmth, with summer sea temperatures averaging above 27°C and air temperatures hitting nearly 29°C.Holidaymakers love its vibrant resort atmosphere and gorgeous golden sands, but the higher costs pushed it down the rankings. A three-day stay there averages £318.85.Taking third place is Playa de Maspalomas in Gran Canaria, Spain, which impressed with more than 5,000 five-star reviews and dependable year-round sunshine. It is perfect for summer as July air temperatures average 27.8°C. Britons can also grab a pint for £1.73.Bournemouth Beach remains a classic choice for Britons who prefer a seaside staycation, offering scenic coastal views and a classic pier full of family-friendly fun.However, cooler average sea and air temperatures of 17.2°C and 17.5°C, respectively, meant it stayed towards the end of the list.
