Trump's DOJ Weaponization Misconduct Triggers Threat To Over 100 Cases
A veteran federal prosecutor's grand jury misconduct is so pervasive that the Justice Department now expects to review more than 100 cases she handled going back to 2007. A court filing in the Northern District of Illinois names the case that started it all: the collapsed prosecution of the Broadview Six. News reports identify the lead prosecutor as Sheri Mecklenburg, a nearly two-decade veteran of the Justice Department whose conduct before a grand jury unraveled a high-profile case against six Democratic officials and activists arrested for protesting outside a Chicago Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility during the Trump administration's Operation Midway Blitz deportation campaign. Prosecutors made three attempts to indict the protesters on a rare felony conspiracy charge. read more

Former prosecutor unnerved by Justice John Roberts
Former federal prosecutor Andrew Weissmann expressed deep concern about the Supreme Court's 6-3 decision in Trump v. Slaughter, which overturned 91 years of precedent allowing presidents to fire independent agency members without cause. Weissmann highlighted Chief Justice Roberts' use of the word secrecy when describing executive branch vitality, calling the language chilling. He argued the ruling extends Roberts' expansive presidential power theory from the Trump v. United States immunity case. Weissmann warned the decision unleashes political patronage and deemed it a very ahistoric decision with significant long-term consequences. He cautioned against allowing presidents to replace career officials based on party affiliation, invoking Justice Robert Jackson's warnings from his Nazi prosecution work at Nuremberg. You do not want a Republican president to come in and fire every Democrat, and you do not want every Democratic president to come in and fire every Republican, he said. Weissmann also criticized the court's originalism claims as laughable, pointing to its simultaneous decision protecting the Federal Reserve as evidence of result-oriented judging.Watch the video below. ‘Really twisted’: Tim Walz votes to pardon convicted child sex offender
Centre of the American Experiment President John Hinderaker describes Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s decision to pardon a child sex offender as “really twisted”. “The Minnesota Board of Pardons, which included Governor Tim Walz as well as Attorney General Keith Ellison, pardoned him on the rape conviction for the sole reason that it would stop the deportation and allow him to stay in Minnesota,” Mr Hinderaker told Sky News Senior Reporter Caroline Marcus. “They want the convicted rapist here in our state. “It just illustrates the Democrats' hatred for President Trump and their hostility toward our immigration laws. “It is causing them to take the most extreme and really twisted actions.”
