Pension tax raid from Rachel Reeves 'far more damaging than previously admitted' as millions at risk

Chancellor Rachel Reeves's looming tax raid on pensions has been declared far more damaging than previously admitted, with millions of people's savings at risk.More than 2.8 million workers are projected to scale back their pension contributions once new salary sacrifice restrictions come into force in April 2029, according to figures obtained through a Freedom of Information request.LCP Partner Steve Webb submitted the Freedom of Information (FOI) to the tax authority, which initially declined to answer certain questions, citing that the information related to policy development.Following an appeal, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) released additional data in May.
