Oura Ring 4 rival revealed with one-of-a-kind feature, advanced health tracking, and 150 days of battery life

The Oura Ring 4 and Ultrahuman's recently released Ring Pro could have new competition. Dreame, which is best known for its smart home gadgets like its newest robot vacuums, is entering the wearable space with three new devices — the Dreame AI Smart Ring, the Dreame Glow Ring, and the Dreame AI NFC Smart Ring. These rings are designed to feel almost invisible on the hand, with the Glow Ring emerging as the lightest model in the lineup — 2.5mm thick and weighing as little as 2.6g. Each wearable is designed with its own unique elements like haptic touch controls for notifications and gesture-based commands, Near Field Communication (NFC) functionality that can store digital keys and passes, and advanced health tracking, including ECG monitoring, sleep analysis, and more. In a conversation with GB News, Dreame GTM Manager Feli Hsu explained how each ring in the lineup serves a different purpose.Ms Hsu first showed off the features of its flagship model, the Dreame AI Smart Ring, which focuses on interaction and subtle notifications. “This one is the haptic product, with the haptic alerts and also the touch bar. Haptic controls use touch and vibration to interact with technology through the ring itself. Using a miniature vibration motor, the ring delivers gentle nudges directly to the fingertip — reminders to hydrate, move around, or take medication without forcing you to constantly check a screen. Aside from haptic vibrations found in the upcoming Ringconn 3, controls like these haven't been built into other smart rings like Oura or Ultrahuman. The most recent wearable to feature this is the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses. It also includes what Dreame calls a “touch bar,” a slim touch-sensitive strip built into the ring that allows gesture controls for music, photos, and presentations.“You can use it to control your music, to start and pause it,” Ms Hsu explained while demonstrating through the rings' companion app. “And you can take a remote photo to do a selfie. You can even use it to control your PowerPoint presentations. For Ms Hsu, the presentation control feature stands out most. “While you are doing your presentation, it’s very hard if you use a remote control,” she said. “It’s a bit big, but if you change it with your ring, it’s going to be very easy and simple. Just stand there and slide up and down — it’s very easy and smooth.”The second product, the AI NFC Smart Ring, pushes the concept even further by turning the ring into a digital key. The device can store access credentials, passes, and compatible NFC-enabled information directly on the ring itself. This means you could leave your wallet, access card, or even your keys at home and use the ring instead to unlock doors, tap into buildings, or store digital credentials directly on your finger.“The NFC function is used to open the door,” Ms Hsu said. “You can put your door keys and your name cards — all the things. If it supports NFC, you can put it in this ring and just use one device.”LATEST DEVELOPMENTSEnd of Freeview? It continuously tracks heart rate, blood oxygen, body temperature, respiratory rate, and sleep patterns throughout the day and night.According to Ms Hsu, health features — especially ECG tracking — are becoming increasingly important to users.“I think people care about their heart health,” she said. “For me, I care about my health, so mostly I think ECG is one of the biggest functions that I care about.”Dreame is also planning future AI-driven wellness features, including SOS alerts that could notify family members or friends if a user’s health data signals a potential issue.Ms Hsu said, “If your health, your friends, or your family’s health is found to have issues, they will notify you through the app, information, or messages.”The Dreame Health app is what will let you see and monitor all of your activity. Unlike Oura and Ultrahuman, which offer a paid subscription to access premium health features, Ms Hsu says its core features will remain free to use. However, the company may eventually introduce low-cost subscription options for more advanced AI reporting and health analysis.Ms Hsu said, In the future, some upgrade functions like SOS and deep AI health reports, we may make it for a charge in the future, but only like 2 euros monthly.” This equates to just under £2. For comparison, Oura's paid tier costs £5.99 per month. Ultrahuman offers optional paid add-ons ranging from £2.90 to £4.90 per month. When asked which finger is the best to wear your smart ring for the best tracking, Ms Hsu confirmed, “We recommend wearing the middle finger and the ring finger.” She also recommends wearing the device on the dominant hand for the best experience. In terms of battery life, the rings are said to last up to 5-7 days on a single charge or 150 days with their portable charging case. The Dreame smart ring lineup is expected to hit shelves later this summer. While prices have not yet been finalized, Ms Hsu said the Dreame AI Smart Ring is expected to cost around 380, which is about £330, while the Dreame Glow Ring will likely cost closer to 299, about £258.95. The Dreame AI NFC Smart Ring could cost even less, and may not release until even later this year. Our Standards: The GB News Editorial Charter
