Schrijfster Marjan Berk (93) overleden
Schrijfster en columniste Marjan Berk is op 93-jarige leeftijd overleden in Amsterdam. Dat heeft haar familie via haar uitgeverij bekendgemaakt. Decennia lang werkte Berk in de toneel-, musical-, film- en televisiewereld. Ze publiceerde haar eerste boek, Nooit meer slank, in 1981. Daarna volgden nog 42 romans, verhalenbundels en kinderboeken, zoals Traangas, De feminist en Nooit te oud. Het tijdschrift Opzij kroonde haar eens 'de koningin van het lichte boek'. Berk werd geboren in Zeist in 1932. Ze haalde in 1954 haar verpleegstersdiploma, maar koos een ander pad toen zij op haar 21e werd toegelaten tot de Amsterdamse toneelschool. Sinds 1983 schreef ze columns in het Utrechts Nieuwsblad, de Provinciale Zeeuwse Courant, de Gaykrant, Margriet, en tot recent in het AD en Mokum magazine. Daarmee was Berk voor zover bekend de oudste columniste van Nederland. In 1994 won Berk de Gouden Televizier-Ring voor de 66-delige dramaserie Vrouwenvleugel.
