Celtics Have 'Real Shot' At Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade Built Around Jaylen Brown
The Boston Celtics are coming out of the weekend with a real shot to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks, a source told Marc Stein of The Stein Line. Boston and the Miami Heat remain the two clubs engaged in advanced trade discussions with Milwaukee. The Celtics' offer is built around Jaylen Brown, who is coming off the best season of his career and is several years younger than Antetokounmpo. The Bucks have also expressed interest in Hugo Gonzalez as part of a potential package. Milwaukee is seeking a first-round pick higher than Boston's No. 27 selection, prompting the Celtics to explore additional trade possibilities to improve their offer. Notably, the Bucks could proceed with a deal that keeps Brown without sending him to a third team. The Bucks have presumably planned on entering a rebuild upon an Antetokounmpo trade. Miami's package is known to center on Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware and Jaime Jaquez Jr., along with the Heat's No. 13 pick in the upcoming draft. It is widely assumed Miami is prepared to include additional draft and player capital to finalize an agreement. The ongoing negotiations are believed to be delaying other moves around the league.
