Joy Reid lashes out at the 4th of July, claiming black people don't celebrate it because of how much they hate America

Watch Louder with Crowder every weekday at 11:00 AM Eastern, only on Rumble Premium! Can anyone name one country in the entire world where the quality of life would be greater for Black Americans? No? I didn't think so. This is why, despite flaws and mistakes, we can conclude this is the best place in the entire world for all people, regardless of the color of one’s skin. Any claim that this founding is inherently racist or not worthy of celebration is a lie only spouted by naive fools.Joy Reid: “Nobody black I know is really excited about the 4th of July.“It is the celebration of slaveholders who freed themselves from having to pay taxes to the Crown for their slave empire.Reid was considered a 'mainstream media’ personality for years. pic.twitter.com/XCjHc82Tt6— Western Lensman (@WesternLensman) June 21, 2026 According to Joy Reid: “Nobody black I know is really excited about the 4th of July. And in a disingenuous way, she misinterpreted a quote from Frederick Douglass, claiming, “It is the celebration of slaveholders who freed themselves from having to pay taxes to the Crown for their slave empire. Despite this, she claims Black Americans will still partake in BBQ’s because a day off is a win in their books. To put it lightly, this is the most superficial and flawed representation of this country’s founding. Firstly, Reid has got a lot of nerve bashing the country that made her a millionaire when her parents were from a place that could never give her such opportunities. She does not even have to be smart, yet she had a show on mainstream media for years and remained on air despite no one watching her. Her father was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This is one of the poorest countries in the world. Her mother was from Guyana, where the average salary is 494. Methinks she should be a bit more grateful for the opportunities she has been given in life. Secondly, it is comical that she attempts to quote Douglass because she would hate much of what he stood for. She does realize he was a Republican, right? That is because only one party fought to keep slaves, and the other was founded to end it. She won't admit that, though. Nonetheless, what she fails to convey is that he ended the very speech she mentions by stating the following: I do not despair of this country. There are forces in operation, which must inevitably work the downfall of slavery. ‘The arm of the Lord is not shortened,’ and the doom of slavery is certain. I, therefore, leave off where I began, with hope. While drawing encouragement from the Declaration of Independence, the great principles it contains, and the genius of American institutions, my spirit is also cheered by the obvious tendencies of the age. In other words, Douglass never said he hated America -- only slavery. What is ironic about this is that it is not possible to name one nation that did not utilize this barbaric practice. Yet, only America was founded on the idea that all men are created equal. That is a significant realization and one that should not be taken lightly. It means that, while the principles were not upheld as they should have been, people risked their lives to ensure “the great principles” were upheld. That being said, Reid would do herself a lot of favors if she realized that the founding of this country made it possible for her to become a millionaire. She is so spoiled and arrogant, though, she will bash this great nation that gave her such an opportunity, yet refuse to leave. That tells you all you need to know. - YouTube www.youtube.com
