Jetour Jamaica officially launches, unveils new vehicles

Jetour Jamaica officially marked its arrival on the local automotive landscape on Sunday with a grand launch event at its Mary Brown’s Corner showroom in St Andrew, unveiling six new models as part of its expanding suite of motor vehicle offerings.Business stakeholders, loyal customers, automotive enthusiasts, Government ministers, Opposition spokespersons, members of the media and other invited guests gathered at the facility to witness the official introduction of the internationally recognised Chinese automotive brand to the Jamaican market.Head of operations at Jetour dealer Tyre Warehouse Automotive, Elijah Buddhan noted that careful and lengthy market research led to its partnership with Jetour.“We had to find a brand that was affordable, yet luxurious enough where the owners feel wealthy. And I think we have found that brand,” Buddhan said, touting Jetour as “Jamaica’s number one selling [car brand] since November 2025”.Minister of State in the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Delano Seiveright congratulated Jetour Jamaica on the inroads it has made in the local automotive market since its launch 20 months ago, describing the brand’s marketing and advertising strategy as “second to none” with “perfectly positioned” billboards and strong messaging.“The image on the car, the warranty, the price, and all the monthly payments and the contact information,” the junior minister said, adding “That's the most sensible, clean advertising that I've seen in a long time.”During the launch, Jetour Jamaica showcased six of its latest vehicles — the 2027 T2, G700, T1, X70 Plus, Dashing, and X50 — each designed to cater to varying lifestyle and mobility needs of Jamaican consumers.Company representatives highlighted the brand’s commitment to delivering modern technology, premium comfort, advanced safety features, and competitive value to the local market.Guests at the event were given the opportunity to tour the showroom, experience the vehicles firsthand, and learn more about the technology and features incorporated across the new lineup.Jetour, which mainly manufactures SUVs and crossovers, is among a wave of Chinese automakers looking to get a foothold in Jamaica’s vehicle market with a focus on affordability, style, and innovation.Among the strategies is the offering of longer warranties than are given on more established brands. At Jetour in Jamaica, the warranty with the purchase of a vehicle stretches up to six years or 150,000 kilometres. Three years of service or 42,500km, and one-year vehicle monitoring are additional sweeteners offered by Tyre Warehouse Automotive with the purchase of a vehicle, according to the company website.BYD, MG and BAIC are among other Chinese car brands which are increasing their presence locally.
