Iran targets US bases with retaliatory strikes

Iran says it has carried out retaliatory attacks against US targets in the Middle East, after the US military launched what officials called “self-defense” strikes against Iran following the downing of an Apache attack helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC said it targeted a US military base in Jordan – where the military said it had intercepted five Iranian missiles – as well as the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, where video geolocated by CNN appears to show a flash coming from the vicinity of a US base.
