Under the agreement, the two companies will establish a joint venture company with Coal India holding a 51 per cent equity stake and UPRVUNL 49 per cent, according to ET. The joint venture will develop, finance, construct, operate and maintain renewable energy projects, including ground-mounted and floating solar plants, rooftop solar installations, wind energy projects and pumped storage facilities. The projects are aimed at expanding Uttar Pradesh's renewable energy capacity and meeting the state's growing electricity demand through cleaner sources of power.
