According to a statement published by the Egyptian Council of Ministers, 21 June marked the start of Egypt’s final year high school examinations, with 921,709 students beginning examinations that will influence their future university admissions and career ambitions. Commonly known as the Thannaweya Ammah, these exams play a vital role in the academic development of Egyptian students, with scores determining the university colleges students enter. Planning Authority orders immediate restoration after cement poured on Marsalforn coastal rocks
The Planning Authority said it took immediate enforcement action after being informed about the pouring of cement on coastal rocks in Marsalforn, with works already underway to restore the site to its original condition. In a statement published on Facebook, the authority said its enforcement officers acted as soon as they were notified of the situation. From the moment the Planning Authority was informed about the situation in Marsalforn, immediate action was taken by its enforcement officers, and within a short time work began to restore the site to its original state, the authority said.It added that it will continue to closely monitor the restoration works. The statement comes after a coalition of Gozitan environmental and heritage organisations raised alarm over the incident, describing it as an atrocity and demanding answers from both the Planning Authority and the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA).The Coalition for Gozo, made up of Wirt Għawdex, Din l-Art Ħelwa Għawdex and Għawdix, published photographs showing cement apparently poured directly onto the natural coastal rock formation in Marsalforn. The coalition said it had formally submitted questions to the Planning Authority and ERA, seeking clarification on whether the works had been authorised and how such an intervention was allowed to take place.Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri also addressed the controversy, saying he had been informed about the works carried out in Marsalforn.Camilleri said that if the works were found not to have been authorised, they would have to be removed.

Cute Baby Howler Monkey Will Never See His Mom Again #animals #cuteanimals #wildlife #aww
Joey is tiny. Too tiny to be without his mom. This little howler monkey was rescued by SINAC and taken to Sol Sanctuary after their assessment suggested he may have fallen from a tree. From there, he was brought to our rescue center in Nosara so our team could give him the specialist care he needs. When Joey arrived, our clinical team gently checked him over. His body needed care, but so did his little heart. Because for a baby howler monkey, losing mom means losing everything: warmth, safety, food, comfort, and home. We cannot give Joey back the mother he will never see again. That breaks our hearts. But we can make sure he is not alone. Here in Nosara, Joey will be cared for around the clock. When he is ready, he will join other young howler monkeys in our nursery, where he can grow, learn, and build the skills he will need for the wild. One day, we hope Joey will be strong enough to go home to the forest. Until then, he is safe. He is loved. And we will be right beside him.

A Nun Got Picked Up By ICE On Her Way To Mass. It Took Congress To Get Her Back
A nun is back home after ICE picked her up mid-walk to Sunday Mass — habit and all — in McAllen, just miles from the border. Sister Leticia Ugboaja was detained outside Our Lady of Sorrows Church, and DHS and ICE have stayed silent on why ever since, ignoring requests for comment, The Associated Press reports. It took a viral parish Facebook post and pressure from Congress — including Rep. Monica de la Cruz — before ICE let her go. Ugboaja belongs to the Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy and serves as a Eucharistic minister at the church, according to Diocese of Brownsville spokesperson Brenda Riojas. Riojas also confirmed Ugboaja works as a registered nurse at South Texas Health System and spent a decade as a CNA at DHR Health in Edinburg before that — so on top of everything else, ICE detained a woman who's spent her career caring for sick people. That tracks. South Texas members of Congress stepped in with federal officials, and by Monday she was back home. “We are grateful for the quick response of local representatives who reached out to the Department of Homeland Security to get her released from custody,” Riojas said in her statement.
