According to independent reporting by the Associated Press, the baby and its mother were buried for 32 hours before being saved on Friday. As of the time of reporting, both the mother and baby were reported to be in stable condition in a Caracas hospital. Days after a powerful earthquake shook the nation, stories emerged of dozens of people rescued by emergency services throughout Venezuela. Interim President Delcy Rodríguez claimed up to 33 people have been rescued, including two 11-year-old boys who were rescued separately on Sunday.
