Mr Hinderaker suggested the reason the DOJ did so was because the SPLC responded to the original indictment saying “hey we were just paying informants”. “But that is obviously not true, as we are seeing people coming to the SPLC, saying we are members of the Ku Klux Klan, and we are afraid for our safety. Can you help us get out of the organisation? "Instead, the SPLC pays them to stay in the organisation, and pays for things like cross burnings and recruitment of members. “So for years, they actually paid the Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan."
