‘Extremism cloaked in nice language’: Julian Hill flags hidden rhetoric in migration debate

Assistant Minister for Multicultural Affairs Julian Hill has addressed concerns around the national migration debate, warning against the spread of misinformation and extreme views. “There are extreme views being put about, cloaked in nice language, but actually, when you scratch the surface, they are extreme views," Mr Hill told Sky News Australia. “Being concerned about immigration is not racist, but there are some people using this migration debate and anxiety to push racist views. “I would just encourage people to focus on the numbers and what's actually happening and don't believe all the rubbish you see on social media, people are misusing a couple of big scary numbers and frankly just making stuff up.”
