He emphasized that despite the rise, the per-person cost remains reasonable compared to dining out. The primary driver of the price increase is beef, with meat prices rising from 2.50 to 2.75 due to a 75-year low in cattle herd sizes and strong demand for protein. Lakers Improved Offer To Austin Reaves From $30M Per Year To $46M With Pistons In Pursuit

The Los Angeles Lakers initially were offering Austin Reaves a contract worth approximately 30 million per season, but raised it on Wednesday to over 46 million per season. The improved terms came from the Lakers as it became clear that there were multiple teams, most notably the Detroit Pistons, preparing a four-year, 179 million maximum offer to Reaves. Austin Reaves, from what I understand, two days ago was somewhere around 30 million per year in his offer from the Lakers, said Brian Windhorst on Thursday's episode of First Take. A very good contract. A far cry from what they offered him yesterday. What they offered him yesterday and he agreed to was more than 45 million per year. That's a 50 percent increase in like 24 hours. Why? Leverage. Because the Detroit Pistons were lining it up. You saw last night they made to move off Isaiah Stewart. That cleared salary cap space. Reaves will make 41.3 million in Year 1 of his four-year, 185 million contract.
