Duckie leaves Chapelton Maroons

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Chapleton Maroons will be looking for a new head coach for the next Jamaica Premier League season after Donovan Duckie submitted his resignation, effective immediately, on Thursday.His stint with the Clarendon-based club lasted one season after he was appointed in August 2025.In a letter addressed to Kaycie Butler, president of Chapleton Maroons, the much-travelled coach said the decision was difficult: “This decision was not an easy one, but after careful consideration, I believe it is the right step for my personal and professional growth.”He was also grateful for the chance to coach Chapleton.“I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to serve the club. It has been an honour to work with the players, staff and management during my time as head coach,” he said.Duckie, who is a former National Under-20 head coach, has worked with a number of Premier League clubs, including Mt Pleasant FA, Montego Bay United, Humble Lion, Waterhouse and Vere United.He also coached at the schoolboy level with Manchester High.— Paul A Reid
