Oil Heads for Weekly Gains as US-Iran Tensions Raise Supply Concerns | Dawn News English

Oil prices rose on Friday and were on track for weekly gains as renewed fighting between the United States and Iran disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, raising concerns over global oil supplies. Brent crude was up 0.3 per cent at 76 dollars and 54 cents a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude rose 0.1 per cent to 72 dollars and 17 cents a barrel. For the week, Brent was set to gain around 6 per cent, while WTI was on track to rise about 5 per cent. Market analysts said the slowdown in shipping through the Strait of Hormuz continues to add a significant risk premium to oil prices, with no clear timeline for normal operations to resume. #OilPrices #USIran #MiddleEast #StraitOfHormuz #BrentCrude #WTI #GlobalOil #EnergyMarkets #OilMarket ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dawn News English is your window into the latest news, insight, and features from South Asia and beyond.
