ST JAMES, Jamaica — The St James police have identified the body of a man retrieved from a pit in Gutters on Tuesday.He has been identified as Alpheus Reid, a resident of the community.According to police, Reid was murdered between Monday and Tuesday and his body was dumped in the pit.His body was found to have several bullet wounds following its retrieval.Reid's body was retrieved by firefighters from the pit, which served as the base for an abandoned latrine.Firefighters used ladders to access the area and managed to take him out.Reid is believed to be of unsound mind.The St James police are investigating.
