KINGSTON, Jamaica — Security company Beryllium says its operational facilities remain unaffected following an explosion and fire at a nearby garage facility on Wednesday morning.In a statement issued Wednesday afternoon, the company clarified that the incident occurred at a garage located adjacent to its compound on South Camp Road in Kingston.According to Beryllium, the explosion and subsequent blaze involved a vehicle on the garage property. The situation was contained to the garage premises and did not impact Beryllium’s operational facilities,” the company said.Beryllium stressed that there was no fire within its building or operational areas.“Business continuity measures remained fully intact, and all services continue to operate normally,” the company said.The company said its immediate focus has been on supporting those affected by the incident. It noted that its human resources and management teams have been coordinating medical assistance, supporting employees and staying in contact with relatives of the injured.Beryllium also praised emergency responders for their quick action in containing the fire and preventing further damage.“Beryllium remains committed to the safety and well-being of its team members and to maintaining uninterrupted service to its clients and partners,” it said.
