According to findings from the police and the Special Investigation Team (SIT), the embezzlement of temple donations was not a recent development but had been going on for a long time. Furthermore, sources said that during questioning, the accused failed to provide any explanation about the source of the money deposited in their bank accounts. However, investigators were able to access only the last 45 days of CCTV footage, on the basis of which eight accused were identified and arrested.
