Astonishing reason behind Trump’s ‘rushed’ DC projects exposed: whistleblowers

As revealed in a letter made public this week, multiple whistleblowers accused President Donald Trump of ignoring federal contracting laws regarding his several beautification projects in Washington, D.C., and claimed to know why the president was so rushed to see the projects completed.Trump has spent much of his second term focused on his D.C. beautification projects, perhaps chief among them being the renovations to the Kennedy Center, which included emblazoning his name on the building – a move since undone by a judge's order.According to multiple whistleblowers who reportedly contacted Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), however, there was a very specific reason for why Trump expedited the Kennedy Center renovations: to ensure renovations were complete in time for him to receive the FIFA World Peace Prize.“[Kennedy] Center management worked in unusually close consultation with the White House to rush a series of renovations to meet deadlines tied to the President’s desire to host events at the Center in December 2025, including the ceremony at which President Trump received the so-called ‘FIFA World Peace Prize,’” reads a joint letter penned by Whitehouse.“In the process, longstanding federal contracting controls were set aside, no-bid contracts were awarded, and superficial cosmetic work was performed that staff warned would have to be redone.”Trump’s “rush,” as Whitehouse called it, to see his beautification projects to completion went beyond the Kennedy Center, the whistleblowers claimed.“Contractor’s cosmetic revamp of the Center’s Reflecting Pool is already rusting and peeling,” the letter reads. “In order to hit President Trump’s December 2025 deadline, [the contractor] only conducted a cosmetic sanding and repainting of the Center’s East Plaza Reflecting Pool, which the disclosure indicates may need to be fully rebuilt. The Center’s Reflecting Pool is now unevenly painted and rusting, indicating that old paint was never properly stripped before it was resurfaced.”

CNN's Jennings Helps Trump Push Latest Lie About Reflecting Pool Debacle
Trump's toadie on CNN, Scott Jennings proves once again there's no bottom when it comes to defending Dear Leader. What an embarrassment this guy is. Jennings made an appearance on The Source with Kaitlan Collins this Friday and was asked by Collins about Trump's latest lie about his Reflecting Pool debacle. As CNN reported that same evening, Trump is now trying to blame the peeling paint and algae spreading everywhere on vandalism: President Donald Trump on Friday claimed the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool was intentionally vandalized and said law enforcement is actively investigating, as the administration has scrambled to fix the pool’s recent deterioration just days after Trump’s nearly 15 million renovation. read more

Trump awarded $500 million no-bid contract to Virginia firm last year to build his stupid fucking ballroom at the very same time he was claiming it would be privately funded
Story here. He pulled this off by routing the secret contract through a White House office that deals with minor repairs and building maintenance issues, and which is therefore exempt from government disclosure and competitive bidding requirements. Keystone Kash Runs Into Trouble With Crackpot FBI Goose Chase
Kylie Cooper/ReutersSenate Democrats are pushing back hard against FBI Director Kash Patel’s wild decision to mobilize hundreds of federal agents and analysts on what one senior senator is calling a “fool’s errand.” Sen. Mark Warner of Virginia, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, wrote to both Patel and Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche demanding answers after MS NOW reported that Patel had ordered 260 FBI intelligence analysts from field offices across the entire country to work on what internal FBI documents describe as a “priority investigation” in Georgia related to the 2020 election. Warner did not mince his words. “This misuse of taxpayer dollars is negligence and abuse of power of the highest order,” he wrote, before laying out exactly what was being sacrificed to pursue it.Read more at The Daily Beast.

“Freak accident”: Pfizer building developer denies risk of collapse
The developer behind the conversion of the former Pfizer headquarters in Midtown is speaking out to quell concerns after the massive development site was the subject of an emergency response early Tuesday. Hours after city officials warned of an “extremely dangerous situation” at the in-progress conversion of the former office property, Nathan Berman of MetroLoft said in an interview with The Real Deal that reports of the building’s impending collapse have been “blown a little bit out of proportion,” adding that despite videos of sagging upper floors and buckled support columns, the building “was never at risk of collapse” and []This article originally appeared on The Real Deal. Democratic socialist surge spreads through US as Mamdani effect takes hold
Sky News US Analyst Michael Ware discusses the rise of democratic socialism across the United States following multiple victories in New York. “A lot of it comes down to messaging in response to the real hurt that American voters are feeling,” Mr Ware told Sky News Australia. “People are hurting, rents in cities where they work are unaffordable, and you know, health costs and so forth. So, these progressives, or ultra progressives of the democratic socialists … are responding to those sorts of kitchen table concerns. “These progressives are a sign of perhaps some angst within the economy.”
