14-y-o among two charged for possession of prohibited weapon

KINGSTON, Jamaica - A St Thomas labourer and a teenage boy have been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon following an incident in the parish on July 5.The accused are 20-year-old Delano Willis, otherwise called ‘Delli’, and a 14-year-old boy, both of a St Thomas address.According to reports from the Morant Bay Police, an off-duty police officer was at an event in the area when he received information alleging that individuals were seen with a firearm.Acting on the information, the officer reportedly observed Willis handing what appeared to be a firearm to the 14-year-old.Based on this observation, both were searched, following which a green imitation firearm was seen in the teen's waistband.They were taken into custody and subsequently charged following question-and-answer sessions conducted in the presence of their attorneys and the teen's guardian.A court date is being finalised for both.

Two Dutch men arrested in connection with drug trafficking
Two Dutch nationals, aged 34 and 38, were arrested in Swieqi on Monday afternoon as part of an ongoing police investigation into a major drug trafficking operation. This follows a previous court case earlier this year involving another individual linked to the same criminal network.Following intensive surveillance and investigative work, police officers conducted raids on properties associated with the suspects. During a search of a residence in Swieqi, officers discovered drug paraphernalia along with approximately 890 grams of suspected amphetamines and 550 grams of suspected ketamine.A simultaneous search of the second suspect's home in Ħal Kirkop yielded further evidence of drug use, as well as pink pills, a quantity of suspected cocaine, and a collection of forged documents.The suspects are currently being held at the police lock-up. Retired US soldier sentenced for murder of Portland mason
PORTLAND, Jamaica — A 48-year-old retired United States soldier has been sentenced to 22 years in prison after pleading guilty to the 2022 murder of Portland mason Craig Senior.The convicted man, Emille Tracey of Pine Terrace, Florida, admitted to fatally shooting the 43-year-old on October 9, 2022, in Hart Hill District, Portland.Reports are that Senior was at his home when a motor vehicle pulled up and someone called him outside. He went outside and was shot, before the vehicle drove off westward towards St Mary.
