A wildfire that broke out on Wednesday morning near the village of 't Harde in the Dutch province of Gelderland remained out of control, reported Xinhua, quoting local media. According to Dutch public broadcaster NOS, the fire has spread over an area of approximately 2,200 meters in a military training camp in eastern Netherlands and has shown no signs of diminishing as of 19:00 local time (1800 GMT).

Edwin Kok, national coordinator for Wildfire Management at the Netherlands Institute for Public Safety, described the incident as an exceptionally large fire. Dutch outlet nu.nl reported that the Dutch Air Force has deployed several helicopters to assist in fighting the fire. Approximately 400 firefighters are working to contain the blaze. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and no injuries were reported so far. NOS also reported that authorities have warned of an increased risk of wildfires in the coming period due to persistent drought conditions. Several wildfires were reported across the country last week, raising concerns about a continued rise in such incidents.
