More than two dozen patients have been hospitalized with symptoms of poisoning in the Karabudakhkent district. Investigators have identified drinking water as the likely cause. Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) has urged people not to drink untreated water in areas affected by the flooding.
