Wage, salary drop in Feb from last month, increase Y-on-Y

The wages and salaries sum in the public sector was 2.3 per cent higher than a year earlier in the corresponding period. In the private sector, the seasonally adjusted wages and salaries sum decreased by 0.7 per cent and in the public sector by 0.6 per cent in February from the month before. The working day adjusted wages and salaries sum grew in February 2026 in all other main industries but decreased in the industries of private health and social work and private education compared to February 2025. The working day adjusted wages and salaries sum increased significantly in the industry of finance and insurance (5.6). The growth was moderate in the industries of manufacturing (3.9), trade (1.9), other services (1.1) and construction (0.3). At the same period the working day adjusted wages and salaries sum decreased in the industries of private health and social work (3.2) and private education (1.2).
