KINGSTON, Jamaica — Veteran broadcaster Daniel Thompson, a familiar voice on Radio Jamaica for nearly three decades, has died.Radio Jamaica confirmed his passing on Thursday.He reportedly died after suffering a heart attack.Thompson dedicated 28 years to Radio Jamaica, working across every time slot and leaving a mark on multiple programmes. He hosted his own show and most recently contributed to the station’s call-in programme, Hotline.
He was also well known for the popular “X and Y” feature, alongside Emily Shields.In addition to his work on talk shows, Thompson was a respected newsreader.
