US will have hearings with Epstein victims, says House oversight chairman US representative James Comer, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, has said that congressional hearings will take place with the victims of the late convicted child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. “We have always planned on having a hearing with Epstein victims once the depositions have been completed, so we’ve still got some more high-profile men that are coming in,” Comer told Fox News during an interview on Friday.

This follows comments made by US first lady Melania Trump calling for hearings for survivors of Epstein’s notorious sex trafficking ring after a leaked email emerged between her and Epstein’s former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell. In the email from 2002, she wrote that she “cannot wait” to go to Palm Beach to see the couple. While Melania has denied knowing Maxwell, her husband, US President Donald Trump, has been linked repeatedly to Epstein, describing him as a “terrific guy”, and was named extensively in the Epstein Files released earlier this year.
