US Central Command said the USS Spruance intercepted the Iranian-flagged “Touska” as it traveled towards an Iranian port in violation of the blockade. Iran’s military called it a violation of the US-Iran temporary ceasefire and threatened to retaliate. However, Iran was later accused of violating the ceasefire after reportedly opening fire on ships trying to transit the Strait of Hormuz.
