Trump pushes Saudi Arabia to join Abraham Accords President Donald Trump urged Saudi Arabia to join the Abraham Accords, saying the Middle East is being “transformed” by the war involving Iran and that the region’s future is bright. “The Middle East will be transformed (as a result of the war) and the future of that region — I don’t think it’s ever been brighter,” Trump said at a conference in Miami. Calling out Saudi official Yasir Al-Rumayyan during his remarks, Trump said, “I hope you’re going to be getting into the Abraham Accords finally,” adding, “Will you please go back and explain? It’s time now.” He also recalled past conversations with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, saying Riyadh had delayed joining the accords, and argued Iran’s regional influence had been the primary obstacle. Saudi Arabia has insisted that normalisation with Israel depends on progress toward resolving the Palestinian conflict.
