The Justice Department has opened a federal assault investigation into former Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA).According to NOTUS, Swalwell already faces investigation by local prosecutors in New York, the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles, following allegations from five women that he engaged in sexual misconduct and assault with them, including a staffer who claims he assaulted her when she was severely intoxicated.A former staffer accused him of raping her while she was heavily intoxicated in a New York City hotel room in 2024, telling CNN: I was pushing him off of me, saying no.
