This is the final piece in a four-part series on the Israeli death penalty against Palestinians, drawn from interventions made during the 17 May webinar hosted by the Progressive International and the Palestinian Youth Organization. Fida Abdel Fattah is a lawyer with experience in international law and advocacy around political prisoners, including the case of Georges Abdallah. Abdel Fattah examines how law can be mobilized as a colonial tool to legitimize violence while criticizing the limitations of international legal institutions in confronting ongoing abuses. At the same time, she stresses the importance of documentation, legal action, and sustained political solidarity as mechanisms for challenging impunity and supporting prisoners’ struggles.
