After the shock and the camera comes the hardest question: how do we prevent the video from turning from evidence into fire? Leaked clips do not exist in a vacuum, nor do they reach a neutral eye. They enter a wounded society, impoverished in politics and institutions, burdened by sectarian fear and an open civil memory. A video may begin as evidence of a crime, only to become, through commentary, anger, and circulation, material for division and revenge.
