Marco Rubio spoke on US President Donald Trump's recent comments on the supply of guns to the Iranian people. “I think the President thinks it’s heartbreaking that the Iranian people are abused by this regime the way they are,” Mr Rubio said. “I don't know of any country in the world where there is a bigger difference between the people and the people who run the country.
“This country’s run by radical, Shia clerics, and that’s not what Iran and the Iranian people are. “The President has deep sympathy for what they’re going through, and I think that he’s just expressing that sympathy and that frustration that they don’t have the ability to do more.”
