‘Renters get screwed’: Warning over Labor negative gearing crackdown

Former Victorian Liberal Party president Michael Kroger says renters are going to “suffer” the most if the Labor government curbs negative gearing in the upcoming federal budget. “Not everybody can afford to buy a home, so what it means is all the renters get screwed,” Mr Kroger told Sky News host Paul Murray. “They might only have 50 per cent with deposit assistance and a mortgage, they might be nowhere near buying a place.”
