Efforts are underway to repatriate a group of Australians who became stranded on a cruise ship linked to a hantavirus outbreak. Authorities say the group will be required to undergo several weeks of quarantine once they return to Australia. Australia’s Health Minister Mark Butler commented on this. “An order will then be made for those passengers to be subject to quarantine arrangements,” Mr Butler said.

“As we move into that three-week period, we will be seeking further advice from the chief health officers through the AHPC about what arrangements should take place beyond that initial three weeks.”
