KINGSTON, Jamaica — Police seized unauthorised ammunition and firearm components during an early morning intelligence-led operation in Kingston 2 on Wednesday.The operation, carried out between 5:30 am and 7:00 am at premises along Mountain View Avenue (Jarrett Lane), led to the discovery of five 5.56 live rounds, five spent casings, a M16 magazine and a M16 hand guard.Reports indicate that the items were found in a black plastic bag hidden in a block pocket of an unfinished building on the property.No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.Investigators say the area where the ammunition was seized is of concern to lawmen.They believe the seizure is likely to disrupt the activities of the Jarrett Lane-based gang operating in the community.
