PAM withdraws job search ban on Lapland safari company

Service Union United (Palvelualojen ammattiliitto-PAM) on Friday announced to withdraw job search blockade imposed on a safari company in Lapland last month due to violations of the collective agreement and exploiting workers. PAM took the decision following an agreement with the Finnish Hospitality Association (Matkailu- ja Ravintolapalvelut- MaRa), the association of the employer which represents the safari company named Nordic Unique Travels, said PAM in a press release. Under the agreement the company committed to correcting its practices and complying with legislation and the collective agreement for the adventure services sector in the future. PAM will continue to actively monitor compliance with terms and conditions of employment and ensure that workers rights are respected, said PAM. “During the negotiations, the issues that led to the job search blockade were addressed, and there are no longer grounds to continue the blockade,” said PAMs organisational director Risto Kalliorinne in the press release. Earlier on May 21, 2026 PAM imposed a job search blockade on a safari company Nordic Unique Travels in Lapland due to violations of the collective agreement and exploiting workers.
