The recognition framework will acknowledge employers demonstrating responsible labour practices, strong worker wellness systems, investment in training and workforce development, opportunities for career mobility and advancement, and meaningful worker engagement initiatives.The labour minister told Parliament that Jamaica’s long-term competitiveness will be strongest where innovation, productivity and worker dignity advance together.He said that as Jamaica modernises its labour environment, “We remain guided by a simple principle — that the future of work must not become a future of insecurity. It must become a future of opportunity, protection and advancement for the Jamaican people.”“As industries expand and reconstruction accelerates, worker protection and workplace safety must remain central to national development,” he stated.Charles Jr said the BPO sector remains one of Jamaica’s most important employment industries and continues to create opportunities for thousands of Jamaicans, particularly young people entering the workforce.
