Okyenhene bans home burials, tasks MMDCEs to enforce laws

The Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, has declared that burials of deceased persons in private homes within the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area are illegal. He stated that such home burials violate Ghana’s environmental laws as well as the customs and traditions of Akyem Abuakwa, emphasising that burials should only occur at designated sites.
