NYT investigation names Adam Back as Bitcoin's Satoshi Nakamoto

John Carreyrou — the journalist who broke the Theranos story — spent 18 months trying to identify Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoin's pseudonymous creator. His conclusion, published in the New York Times this week: Adam Back, 55, a British cryptographer who invented Hashcash, the computational puzzle system that became Bitcoin's proof-of-work mining engine.
