Motorists in New South Wales are being reminded to drive safely over the Easter long weekend. Police are worried about a rise in fatal crashes in the state this year. Additional officers will be on the road from April 2 until April 7. Double demerits will be in place for speeding, seatbelt, helmet, and mobile phone use offences during that period. 88 people have died on New South Wales roads in 2026 so far, which is 11 more than the same period last year.
