Murder charge laid against partner of US citizen found dead in Hanover Airbnb

HANOVER, Jamaica — The Hanover police have charged the partner of a United States (US) citizen who was found dead in the parish on Monday.Charged with murder and breaches of the Immigration Act is 36-year-old Aldean Jermaine Blake, who is reportedly originally from Clarendon.It is understood that Blake, a holder of a US passport, arrived in Jamaica on October 5 last year and was supposed to leave the island by April 3.He has been charged in connection with the death of 33-year-old Kadian “Kadi” Bradshaw of Tampa, Florida, and Bulls Bay, Hanover.Bradshaw, Blake and a baby believed to be their child were staying at a rental property in the Bulls Bay area at the time of the incident.According to police reports, at about 2:00 am on Monday, an altercation developed between Bradshaw and Blake at the residence, during which the woman was injured.The police were alerted after residents reportedly became concerned upon seeing Blake walking along the main road toward Lucea with the infant during the pre-dawn hours. The police quickly intercepted the man and the child.Investigators said Blake initially denied knowledge of the incident, claiming that Bradshaw had left him and travelled to Clarendon. However, after efforts to contact the woman proved unsuccessful, officers instructed him to take them to the residence where the couple had been staying.Police reported that Blake was reluctant to do so. During a search, however, officers allegedly found a key in his possession that made reference to the Bulls Bay property.The police subsequently went to the apartment, where they discovered Bradshaw's body bearing what appeared to be stab wounds.Blake was later charged.Since the start of the year, Hanover has recorded nine murders, compared with six during the corresponding period last year.READ: US citizen found dead in Hanover Airbnb; spouse being questioned by police— Anthony Lewis
